JetBlue’s Ian Deason Joins ClimaCell Advisory Board

Supports company mission for improved safety through innovation

We are happy to announce that Ian Deason, Senior Vice President, Airports Experience at JetBlue has joined the ClimaCell Advisory Board. Ian shares ClimaCell’s mission of improving safety across the aviation industry through innovations in weather technology.

“There’s nothing more important in our industry than the safety of customers and crewmembers,” said Ian. “ClimaCell is looking at innovative ways to put new forms of weather data in the hands of airline and airport operations teams which could improve both safety and efficiency.”

In his role at JetBlue, Ian leads a team of 7,500 crewmembers, with responsibility for all airport-related operations and functions for JetBlue’s network of 102 cities in over 20 countries throughout the Americas.

Since joining JetBlue in 2006 Ian has served in multiple capacities, including Chief of Staff to the CEO/COO, Director Alliances and Partnerships, and Director Boston Operations.

Prior to joining JetBlue, Ian worked in investment banking and private equity, and also served on Capitol Hill as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business.

Ian is currently on the Board of EdVestors – a Boston-based school change organization focused on accelerating substantive improvement in urban schools, and a member of Gen Next, an organization of business leaders focused on education, economic growth, and global security.

He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

The ClimaCell family is thrilled to have Ian on our Advisory Board and feel lucky to have his guidance as we bring new sources of weather data to the aviation industry.
