ITS ConGlobal Partners with Tomorrow.io to Deploy Advanced, Predictive Weather Insights Across Operations

Boston, August 6th, 2020 — ITS ConGlobal (“ITSC”), North America’s leading operator of intermodal, finished vehicle and depot services terminals has today announced a new partnership with Tomorrow.io, the world’s most advanced weather intelligence platform, to leverage its predictive weather insights and decision assist tools at ITSC’s services which span more than 120 locations across North and Central America.

The partnership further demonstrates ITSC’s continued focus on delivering employee safety, customer service and operational efficiency.

“Weather and its influence on our business is a significant input to our operating plans – and the decisions we make – every day,” said Brant Ring, CEO of ITS ConGlobal. “Tomorrow.io’s capabilities and service offerings are the best in the market.  Tomorrow.io has proven its ability to combine its one-of-a-kind weather and climate forecasting platform with our operating protocols, decision trees and action plans in a way that allows our operating teams to be more proactive and confident when it comes to making weather related operating adjustments.  We are incredibly impressed with both Tomorrow.io’s technology and team, and we look forward to partnering with them to help us deliver on our every day mission to take care of our employees, take care of our customers and take care of our business.”

The intermodal and supply chain industry is one of the most exposed sectors to weather. The ability to automate and understand weather impacts in a more precise, predictive way offers a superior operational advantage.  From a volume and scale perspective, ITSC loads/unloads ~8M intermodal shipments and 2M finished vehicles, annually, and has capacity to store nearly 200K TEUs across its depot network.  While Tomorrow.io offers more than 50 different weather parameters to track historically, in real-time and forecasted down to the street level, the most significant elements for the team at ITSC includes intensity and duration of wind speed, temperature, precipitation, and severe weather of any kind.

“The team at ITS ConGlobal is world class in their ability to operate safely and efficiently, at scale,” said Shimon Elkabetz, CEO of Tomorrow.io. “Using Tomorrow.io to more precisely predict weather, optimize, and automate operational planning, fits perfectly with ITSC’s safety, service and efficiency initiatives.  We’re thrilled to partner with Brant and the team to break new ground in the industry.”
